Acorns.

I have to quickly chime in on the Royal Wedding.  Yes, she's stunning, her dress was royal perfection and the tiara is to die for.  But the earrings!  ACORNS!  Love it.

When she first appeared, I was mildly disappointed that her dress was so traditional.  But then I saw it again (and again and again and again) and I decided it was perfect.  She simply couldn't be avant-garde or revealing while marrying the future King of England.

It was when I saw these earrings that I thought "there's her amazing style".  Designed by Robinson Pelham Jewellers, the earrings featured diamond-set oak leaves with a pear-shaped diamond-set drop and a pave-set diamond ACORN.  The design is a nod to the Middleton family's new coat of arms (which includes acorns and oak leaves.)  I appreciate the nod to tradition and love the fun it brings to a very regal occasion.

What did you think of the Big Day?

My favorite image of the day.

  1. you would think for someone who was overloaded on Royal Wedding coverage, I would have already heard that these earrings had acorns on them, but I had not! They are simply stunning, just like the new duchess. I thought the same thing as you, dress was a bit plain at first, but it started to grow on me. I think it was perfect for her. she definitely had a Grace Kelly moment.
