Rooney to Lisbeth.

How do you go from this...

to this?

Rooney Mara's transformation in to Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is insane.  She claims the character came about after a very "intense" day of eyebrow bleaching, hair chopping, lip/brow/nose/nipple piercing (yes, nipple and yes, you see it.  Several times.) Intense indeed.

The movie is fantastic.  Full disclosure - I did not read the book, so those purists may disagree with me.  But I loved it and I am still thinking about the flick today.  I may even go pick up the second book in the series...

Will you see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

  1. I can't wait to see this movie! Having read the books and watched the Swedish films, Rooney clearly captured the essence of Lisbeth. And you should read all three books - I even mail them to you! Merry Christmas, Sarah!

  2. I read the book this summer and it was intense! I want to see the movie but I'm a nightmare-ish kind of person and am kind of nervous! :)

  3. Ok, so I am dying to see the movie, but with a 5 month old that is not going to happen anytime soon. Maybe I will read the book over Christmas!

  4. Oh mama - that is the one film I told The Hubs we were going to see in the theater, and we may even do the fancy schmancy big theater in the Power & Light district. Cannot. Wait. Loved the bookts, loved the original film, and puh-leeze - LOOOOOVE Daniel Craig. Funny thing is - when I read the books originally, in my head I was casting the movie (this was before I had seen the Swedish film or knew they were doing an American version), and I totally pegged Daniel Craig for Blomquist.

Anyhoozle - have a happy Christmas!!
    merci,
    Shan
