Spring Break Recap.

Last week, the whole family ventured to Mexico for Spring Break...and returned to loads and loads of snow, which thankfully is mostly melted now.

We spent our break doing not much.

Mornings spent at the beach.

Afternoons spent at the pool, where a first sunburn was experienced.  (Mother of the Year...)

A few resort games.

And 7 straight days of Happy Hour.

It was a week well spent.

How was your Spring Break?

Derma Doctor.

My skin is not making me happy these days.  Ulgh.  Maybe it's because I am eating poorly or perhaps it's deciding to age...either way, it's the pits.

While browsing at my favorite salon and spa last week, I was offered a handful of samples to test out before taking the plunge.  The esthetician strongly recommended a good old fashion scrubbing two times a week to keep everything looking nice and clean.  Despite the fact that I use my Clarisonic Mia every morning, sometimes you need something chemical to really knock all the junk off your face.  Her favorite was Derma Doctor's Physical Chemistry.

You apply on clean dry skin, rub around for a minute or so and rinse with warm water.  It's very tingly (in a good way) and definitely abrasive.  I like how it makes my skin feel soft immediately and leaves my cheeks a little red and alive looking.

It has Glycolic and Alpha Hydroxy in it so it feels medicinal - certain spots on my face were tingling more than others.  It is supposed to help with fine lines, lifeless complexion, dry skin, post acne discoloration, blotchy skin coloring and assorted other conditions.  All things I can benefit from.

It retails for about $85 so it's pricey, but so far, I really like it.  Plus, the jar would probably last several months so the cost per use would be acceptable.  (Way cheaper than a monthly peel, right?!)

Any use this product or any other Derma Doctor products?

Club Monaco.

A few weekends ago, the husband and I took a mini-vacay to Atlantic City and Philadelphia.  The first half of the trip was work related for him, but the second was a chance to catch up with friends over an amazing meal and of course, shop!

I strolled over to Club Monaco, a store I miss greatly and didn't take near enough advantage of when we lived in Chicago.

This particular store was itty bitty and crammed full of their signature downtown meets everyday looks.  I intended to only try on the Tasha Leggings, but they fit like a glove and they came home with me.  They will probably be retired until next Fall, but that's ok - I think leather will still be in.  At full price - $139.50 - I think they are well priced, but this day they were doing 20% off the store, so they came home with me for an even better price!

I also picked up the Jessie Pant.  Loving these.  Part jean/part pant, super comfortable.  I had gotten in a bad habit of constantly wearing jeans for every occasion and these help change up the look of my everyday attire, but also are fun for a night out.

My spree ended there, but there were a few other things I loved.

Daryl Clutch - great size and I loved the reptile print, but at $249, I thought it was a little pricey.

Regan T-Shirt.  I loved the boyfriend fit and leather detail!

I loved loved loved the fit of the Lauren Camo Jacket, but The Texan does not get the camo trend and honestly, I'm not sure if it's "me" yet either.  But this is a great choice for anyone who is looking...

Spring Break Countdown.

Happy Monday all!

It was a rainy weekend in KC spent mostly working (by me) and traveling (by The Texan), which meant that I didn't really get to tackle my to do list, but another day, right?  I did hit up a new KC hot spot with one of my favorite blogger and real life friends - please check out her newly designed (and fabulous) site!

We are getting ready to head to Mexico for Spring Break and it couldn't come at a better time.  We both need a break from work and The Bug is looking forward to showing off his newly acquired swimming skills.  (Truth:  he told me he was looking forward to swimming to "happy hour" for lemonade.  Am I proud or ashamed?!)

He will be styling in these darling swim trunks my mom just picked up for him at Gymboree.

I swear I am having the hardest time finding LINED trunks for a 5 year old.  What retailer thinks that a little one needs to let it all hang out??  I don't usually find much I like at Gymboree, but these are lined and were 25% off last week.  Keepers!

What are your Spring Break plans?
